Here's a statement by a woman describing another woman whom she knows by sight and has never talked to, but whom she describes as very problematic:
"Me dice que su esposo es dueño de un XXXX y tuvimos un roce hace como dos semanas. Íbamos para el baño juntas y ella dijo, "Yo entro primero". Pues, como yo no tomo, [no le di mucha importancia]. Al salir, dijo, "Y la más bonita sale primero". Y dije, "Está tomada. Clásico".

My try is to use "encounter" or "run-in", but I'm not sure it catches that idea of a light negative exchange between two people.
