Bonsoir à tous,

Je traduis la description d'une caméra embarquée pour agents de police mais je voudrais avoir votre avis sur l'expression "dock and go".
En gros, il y a toute une liste d'options de la caméra, dont :
"Time-saving : just dock and go"

Je pensais peut-être à utiliser le terme "embarquer" mais est-ce bien le sens ici ?

@ Asker Just one query, please: you say this is one of the 'options', but surely in fact this is a basic feature, not an optional extra?

@ Asker Yes, but the point is, you don't really even need to 'brancher' (fiddling around with a silly little plug to get it in the hole the right way round...) — you just pop it into the docking station, and it's all done for you...

@ Asker I think you'll find the idea is more that of 'plug-n-play' — i.e. you just have to set it in its cradle (docking station) and it is immediately ready for use. I think that's really a bit more than your suggested 'embarquer'. What it used in FR for 'plug-n-play'? That might give you some ideas to start you off!

Si on veut vraiment restituer "Go", on pourrait aussi faire "posez-partez"

Je pense que la tournure avec "on" remplace bien l'impératif, ici.
Rapide : on connecte et c'est parti.
Éventuellement "pose" au lieu de "connecte".

I see what you mean but think that in french, "connecter" gives an impression of speed, contrary to "brancher" or "connect" in English.
