"El tejido de plana es una estructura elaborada a base de mayas" is the whole phrase. It's talking about different kinds of weave. I can find useful texts in Spanish such as this link http://textilestecno3b.weebly.com/los-tipos-de-textiles.html
but not the translation.

It can mean mesh, or knit... and you won't necesarily want to use the same term each time it appears.
