German term

Dosematen

German to English Science Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) Leather processing
This word occurs in a list of processing steps relating to a tannery. It comes near the top of the list:

Falzen, Beschneiden, Kennzeichnen
Doesematen
Abwelken, Ausrecken
Trocknen
etc.

There are no other references to this in the rest of the document (it is essentially a financial report) and Google throws up only 2 references relating to leather, neither of which are of any help. Can anyone please enlighten me?

Dosematting?
The correct spelling appears to be without the E.

Plural of Dosemat (product name)

Product name:
The Dosemat DD - the superior machine for making leather. The hides are processed uniformly by the patented jet-cross-flow. No tears but effective and gentle action by the Y-Division.
The Dosemat's basic structure consists of 2 drums which are firmly connected with one another. Both rotate, while the entire width of the inner cylinder is perforated. The flow and transport chamber for the float is situated between the outer jacket and the inner cylinder. Intensive movement of the float is achieved by means of build-in diagonal stays and channels located in the front part. Via an oversize hollow axle, part of the float reaches a fixed mixing vat where it is available for measurements of all parameters and then flows rapidly back into the treatment chamber. Depending on the size of the drums, yields of between 700 and 2000 liters per minute are achieved.
