: I've never heard of "birthday gent/lady". It's "birthday boy/girl", at least around here (Canada).

: It seems in Chinese culture the use of the term is to celebrate a person's longevity, but in most Western culture the stress is on how youthful the person is no matter their actual years, so to reflect idiomatic English "Birthday Boy/Girl" is best.
