Simple en verdad: una científicamente medida y espaciada hilera de diminutas barras, ocho en total, que comenzaban con una muy pequeña en lo que llaman "el rabo del ojo", hasta la más grande en el centro de la órbita, de la que seguía el orden descendente, hasta otra en la esquina por donde gotean a mares las lágrimas, que era del mismo tamaño que la del principio. siguiendo la teoría esgrimida por el grupo que elaboró el proyecto, ese nuevo concepto de cárcel eliminaba por completo el presidio y lo sustituía por la prisión interior, la que se lleva puesta a todos lados.

Maybe in this case you could say "from where a sea of tears is constantly shed".
"Sea of tears" is quite common as a poetic expression:

tears drip into seas

While it is common to find "tears drip into puddles", this would be a suitable alternative that maintains the poetic feel of the original. "Tears are pouring" would be another alternative that, while not literal, still conveys the same meaning. Hope it helps!

Rivers of tears

Sometimes it's difficult to convey an idea without sounding too translated or even awkward. This is my take on this, an option that could very well work.
