This is on the description of the cannon on the RAFALE aircraft:
Le canon 30 M 791, intégré sur l’avion RAFALE est un canon à barillet de 30 mm, autonome, fonctionnant par emprunt de gaz.
I can't figure out the "autonome" aspect.

autocannon / automatic cannon
Maybe.
...virtually all fighter aircraft retain autocannon in integral internal mounts to this day.

The BK27 is a gas-operated automatic cannon with linked or linkless ammunition

A flight crewman is shown loading the onboard 40 mm automatic cannon.

Or possibly self-powered:
The compact nature of this self-powered cannon makes it an attractive option for relatively simple on-aircraft installation, whether considered for an under slung pod, under fuselage blister or interior fuselage carriage.

The common 20 mm cannon used before the advent of the 20 mm Vulcan family was a rotary self powered cannon (we stole the basic design from the Germans, IIRC).

Discussion
Thanks for the clarification; I learned a lot. However, I am not convinced that this description of the power source fits the English term "autonomous." It would instead be called "spontaneous," perhaps "automated," and the power would need to the indicated in the list, for example "automated power." "Automatic," though not a proper translation of "autonome," can be used to describe a weapon. The Wikipedia article you provided focuses on the Gatling gun being a predecessor of automatic weapons (rapid-fire, without reloading). I am (respectfully) only arguing from a linguistics point of view.
On other hand, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatling_gun they mention "Power for operating the gun is provided by twin hydraulic motors pressurized from two independent hydraulic systems"
I am not a gunsmith, just an ex fighter pilot.
"fonctionnant par emprunt de gaz" explique pourquoi il est autonome !
