Spanish term

recepción de conformidad

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Other Tender Specification - Spanish from Spain
Dear Colleagues:

I am not sure how to translate this term found in a government Tender Specification. I have seen the entry in the ProZ glossary of "inspection" but this is not suitable in this context. I have seen "reception of conformity" which looks more like a literal translation of the original Spanish and not the actual term used in Tenders written in English originally.

I'm sure there is some standard English term for this Spanish one. I have indicated the term within the text as:
{recepción de conformidad.}

Any light that can be shed will be very appreciated. Here is the context:
========================================================
En la columna referida a las fechas deberá figurar la fecha de finalización de la prestación de los servicios de es decir de la {recepción de conformidad.}

satisfactory receipt / receipt in good order

I don't know if there's a specific equivalent for your query, but I've usually translated this as "satisfactory receipt".

I found a previous Kudoz answer (i.e., the one chosen) that also seems a good fit here (incidentally, the answer that wasn't chosen also lends some weight to my own idea):
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/bus_financial/3...

However, while I like this as a translation, I'm not sure whether it is used mainly in connection with the receipt of certain required documents:

Upon receipt in good order of this proof and an election of a method of settlement and return of the policy, the death benefit generally will be paid within seven days, or as soon thereafter as the Company has sufficient information about the beneficiary(ies) to make the payment.

Another idea might be "received as ordered":

To complete receiving:
1) Enter the quantity (units) of goods or services received as ordered. Entry of this value confirms two things:
• The number of units of goods or services received by consumer. This identifies the amount DVR is obligated to pay.
• The goods or services were received as described on the PO. There can be a variance between what we ordered and consumer satisfaction. If what DVR ordered was received as ordered, then the vendor is owed payment.

In this case, you could perhaps use "receipt as ordered".

There's also the possibility of using something like "acceptance report", if you think it sounds similar to what your text is referring to.

As in the case of the receipt of goods, services received should also be documented properly. Some organizations use an acceptance report (SAP call this a "Service entry sheet") to acknowledge formally the satisfactory completion of a service contract.

Thank you, Laura.
Note from asker:
Hi Robert, This is good. I would add "Acknowledgment of" to these two answers. This is my choice for the best of these offers. Thank you!

acknowledgement of receipt

AKA an "ack" or "receipt acknowledgement".
Definition of acknowledgement of receipt: A documented verification that goods have been received or services have been rendered.

Thank you for your response. I have to agree with the comments to your answer. I think it is an important aspect to the tendering process to acknowlege that the delivery is in accordance with what was ordered. Thank you, though, all offers are helpful!
Peer comment(s):

neutral patinba : I think you need to reflect the "de conformidad" aspect. "acknowledgement of receipt and approval" perhaps?

They can add something about "conformity" if they like, but I believe in CTC...
neutral philgoddard : Agree with patinba. It would be wrong to ignore those two words.

Nah, I think it's just long-winded bureaucrat-speak...

they have been accepted

In a tender like this, the buyer will carry out extensive checks to ensure that the items comply with the specifications. They will then issue a document confirming this, and pay the supplier.

If you just say "accepted", the meaning will be apparent from the context. Alternatively, you could say "accepted as complying with the specifications".
Peer comment(s):

neutral neilmac : So how does that square with your neutral downvote for my suggestion?
