This is an economics/sociology text, talking about the financial crisis and the economy in general and public reactions to it. What do you think they mean by "configuración vital"? I can't find a definition of the term, but it seems to be a fairly fixed term.

Resulta, así, que las generaciones más jóvenes contemplan unas expectativas poco esperanzadoras, sobre todo en términos de empleo y, por tanto, de **configuración vital**. As a result, younger generations have lowered expectations, especially for employment and consequently for **carving out a decent life for themselves**. It would be a mistake, however, to focus what could be considered a social crisis only on them.
