Greek term

προτάσεις μεσογειακής κουζίνας

Greek to English Other Cooking / Culinary
From a restaurant website.

Fuller context is απολαύστε νόστιμες προτάσεις μεσογειακής κουζίνας. No more context to offer. It is the word combination that is causing my query.

Essentially I'm struggling with how to incorporate προτάσεις here. Excluding it seems to miss something important, but, assuming it means "recommendations" in this context, everything I have thought of becomes rather unwieldy in conjunction with "Mediterranean cuisine".

Thank you, in advance, for your help.

@Dylan No worries. It's been January! Grading it now. Thank you :-)
Dylan Edwards Jan 28, 2019:
Yes, thanks, and sorry for the delay! I'm just catching up now.
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 15, 2019:
@Dylan Are you happy to submit an answer so I can pass you the points?
rokotas Jan 15, 2019:
I agree for Dylan to get the points, go on, Domini!
Nick Lingris Jan 14, 2019:
My suggestion would be for Dylan to make a nice cumulative entry and get the points.
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 14, 2019:
@all In the end I have decided to re-phrase and split sentences. Enjoy our tasty Mediterranean cuisine. We offer a selection of...
I wouldn't have gone for we offer without Dylan's input and, though I picked selection over choices because it fits better in the context, it was inspired by @rokotas suggesting choices.

Not therefore sure who to give points to as I know I can't split them (I would have gone 50-50). I am under the impression there is a peer vote option? If so, I'm not sure how to use it. Can someone enlighten me?
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 14, 2019:
@rokotas @dylan yes, I'm coming to as similar conclusion. Am trying to work it in as there is another (separate) phrase at the end that has to flow somehow (sorry can't post more). I'm about to look through the whole website to see whether I can use we offer you in the overall context without changing the feel of the whole (it is not a structure used on the other pages which is why I have avoided it thus far - I want there to be a continuity of style from one page to another). I wish I could put a choice of Mediterranean cuisine, but, grammatically it has the same problem as a selection</>.
Dylan Edwards Jan 13, 2019:
"We offer (you) a variety of delicious choices of Mediterranean cuisine" or something on those lines?
rokotas Jan 13, 2019:
@Domini Then why not "our choices of Med cuisine"?
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 12, 2019:
@ re offerings yes, I like offerings too, but, sadly, it doesn't feel sound right in the context of the rest of the web page (sadly I can't cite more context). I think the meaning is stronger: that they are offering recommendations with the stress on the recommendations. Offerings here gives a sense of take it or leave it. @Nick Thank you for confirming my instinct about the plural. My general problem is that anything with of Mediterranean cuisine feels clunky to me in English here, though it is technically correct. I had hoped that selection in the singular might have flowed better. But not if it is inaccurate! I am re-visiting the page now to see if @transphy's introduction to... fits more naturally on the page, though it does suggest folk haven't been before, which is not necessarily the case.
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 12, 2019:
@transphy I totally agree that Mediterranean Cuisine encompasses everything. Am still toying with that option as well.
Nick Lingris Jan 12, 2019:
@Domini, the plural would be better: Our selections of Mediterranean cuisine. But I still prefer Dylan's "offerings".
transphy Jan 12, 2019:
'Cuisine', means everything pertaining to that type referred to.
You say, i.e, 'French Cuisine', is ALL the french cook traditionally in France.
Greek Cuisine, is what and how the Greeks cook, and
Mediterranean Cuisine is how the peoples of the Mediterranean
cook.
It all goes without saying! 'Cuisine', as you know, embraces ALL the materials, methods and ways of cooking.
I suggest that ' προτάσεις' can be interpreted as 'Introduction'. It introduces people to that Cuisine.
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 12, 2019:
@all Just wondering what you think of "our selection of tasty Mediterranean cuisine"? I like its flow but hesitating re whether it is 100% grammatically?
Domini Lucas (asker) Jan 12, 2019:
@all Thank you all so very much for taking the time to share your thoughts. Please don't think I'm intending to leave it without grading. There's lots here to think about so I will ponder your suggestions over the weekend with the whole web page in front of me and grade on Monday. Thank you again.
transphy Jan 11, 2019:
One could, also, say 'Introduction to Mediterranean Cuisine'.
Nick Lingris Jan 11, 2019:
I think "offerings of Mediterranean cuisine" is the best one so far.
Dylan Edwards Jan 11, 2019:
Or try 'tasty Mediterranean offerings'...
Dylan Edwards Jan 11, 2019:
offerings? The phrase 'tasty offerings' comes to mind, but I'm not sure it works so well when you try to expand it with 'Mediterranean cuisine'.

offerings / offer

The word 'offerings' came to mind, so I'd suggest this as a possible line of thought: some use of the word 'offerings' or 'offer', to convey the idea of 'what Mediterranean cuisine has to offer' - or, more specifically, 'what we have to offer you (recommend to you) in terms of Mediterranean cuisine'.

My starting-point was the phrase 'tasty Mediterranean offerings':

- but obviously this needs some fine-tuning on your part, and, given the range of answers here, there's scope for combining ideas.

'Cuisine' will convey the essence of 'recommendations/suggestions' by being straight to the point.
'..enjoy savoury/distinctive Mediterranean Cuisine (not even recipes, after it), as 'cuisine' entails all that.
