Swedish term

AW

Swedish to English Art/Literary Marketing / Market Research
Hello

Sorry that I can't give the full sentence in Swedish but this agency is very strict and anyway, it won't help

I have translated from Swedish (except the last bit of course) for a hotel website/brochure

Party down to fantastic DJs på en fredags-AW!

Is this some Swedish version of "AWOL" (absence without leave)?

Or does it means something else please?

Thanks

Paul Lambert Jan 25, 2019:
without leave? Sort of an opposite meaning, when you think about it. It is exactly because workers are on leave for the weekend that they can enjoy something extra after work.

@all Shame cos I kind of liked AWOL. But thanks anyway of course

agree Paul Gratwick : PoI, as far as I recall, this came from "after-ski" and gained popularity in Stockholm. Now it's everywhere!
