Google search I had actually searched Google, I found a restaurant and the word but no definition in either French or English, my error might have been that I didn't realize that it was an Arabic word. Thank you all for your help

Patronising much? I disagree. The text is in French and the asker is looking for an equivalent English term. The internet doesn't know everything, that is why we are here.

Hélène Please do your own research before posting questions. This is very easy to Google. Also, it's obviously not a French word, so you've posted it in the wrong place. And since you're doing a translation about Marrakech, the answer should be easy to guess.

Inhabitants of Marrakesh / Marrakeshis / people from Marrakech

The first is more formal, the latter two more informal. The reason it is spelt “Marrakchi” is because Moroccans tend to remove all the vowels and squish the consonants together!

Marrakeshis

This would be an acceptable anglicisation of the term, if that was what was required. The meaning is as suggested. Using "Marrekshis" would be more informal, or possibly in a register that would indicate a familiarity with the locality and its inhabitants. English uses "sh" where French spells it with a "ch".
