Сюжет простенький. Неожиданно умирает отец семейства. Три сестры и мать оплакивают его смерть в местном баре, где они раньше любили собираться, и вспоминают прожитые годы. По-русски, если не ошибаюсь, лестницы right-hand stairs такие называют правыми лестницами, то есть лестницы, у которых подъем происходит по часовой стрелке. В описаниях, которые я читал в переводе с испанского на английский, не раскрывается внутренний смысл этого названия, но, скорее всего, лестница указывает на адрес, где жили члены семьи. Сама история носит глубоко личный характер, поскольку отец режиссера Марии Аданес умер за год выхода картины (http://mariadanez.es/en/directora/5ob-escalera-dcha/).
