Interest expense decreased by $1 million to $113 million in the three months ended June 30, 2019 compared with $114 million in the three months ended June 30, 2018. The decrease primarily relates to lower interest expense on the Group’s Senior Notes, partly offset by higher other interest expense relating to the Group’s drawdowns on the Global Asset Based Loan Facility and **higher lease interest expense**.

Merci à tous ! J'ai opté pour la solution de Germaine en restant sur le général ("lease" = "contrat de location"). Toutefois, dans ce cas-là, il s'agit bien de location d'équipements industriels. Merci à tout le monde !

Peu importe ce qui est loué et les particularités du contrat, un "lease" demeure un "contrat de location". Et oui, même dans le cas de la location d'un local ou d'un bien immobilier, les baux commerciaux contiennent une clause prévoyant le paiement d'un intérêt sur toutes les charges dont le paiement est en retard (loyer, supplément de loyer, redevances, charges locatives, foncières, etc.).

"interest" is far more likely to be part of a contract for leasing equipment, can't see how you would have to pay some kind of interests on top of the rent if you are leasing a property. Anyway, there must some clues in the rest of the ST.

Je dirais "L'économie découle principalement d'une réduction de la charge d'intérêts sur les billets garantis du Groupe, réduction partiellement [occultée][amoindrie] par une augmentation d'une autre charge d'intérêts rattachée aux tirages effectués par le Groupe sur la facilité de crédit garantie par les actifs mondiaux ainsi que de la charge d'intérêts relative aux contrats de location."

Capital lease I agree with Daryo. Bear in mind that this is probably a capital lease (because it's on the balance sheet) and probably relates to industrial equipment or something like that -- leased equipment, not leased real property. That's my guess. So make sure that the French term you choose doesn't mean a real estate lease, unless you're sure that that's what it is (I don't even know if there is such a thing as a capital lease for real estate).

it's simply a question of parsing higher lease interest expense = higher interest expenses related to leases

if all previous occurrences of "interest expenses" are not a problem, nor should be this one.

personnellement je resterais plus vague dans la traduction, ce qui permet d'englober beaucoup plus de possibilités.

neutral Germaine : Le "vague" = 113 M$. Ici, on précise intêrêts sur billets, sur facilité de crédit et sur contrats de location. Ce n'est pas le moment "d'englober + de possibilités" - si tant est qu'elles existent!

si vous voyez quelque choses de mieux, cela reste une proposition. les précisions sont apportées par le reste du contexte que vous venez de citer
