English term

organisational boundary

English to French Science Environment & Ecology Renewable energies
Bonjour,

J'ai un doute sur le terme "organisational boundary", je pensais à "au sein des limites organisationnelles".

As a last resort, offset residual embodied carbon emissions within the project or organisational boundary where possible or if necessary through verified offset schemes.

en dernier recours, compenser si possible les émissions de carbone résiduel incarné dans le projet ou au sein des limites organisationnelles ou, si nécessaire, au moyen de mécanismes de compensation vérifiés.

Merci :)

Discussion

Daryo Sep 17, 2019:
here a far clearer way of saying the same would be "within the same (legal entity called) organisation", as the first association with "organisational" would be to expect something about "organisation = how things are structured / organised" and only after further reading you realise that it's in fact about activities that are inside the same legal entity i.e. it's not about being organised/disorganised but about activities that are inside (as opposed to outside of) the same company/business etc..

au sein du projet ou de l'organisation

Je pense qu'il s'agit du "project boundary" et du "organisational boundary".
Cette proposition donne plus une phrase plus claire et plus allégée...

agree Daryo : in fact even in the ST "organisational" is not exactly the best choice of words - the first two meanings are related to "how things are organised" and only the 3rd meaning relates to "organisation=legal entity"

I agree ! hence the relative difficulty to translate it...

frontières organisationnelles

Same as this example below :

The indirect impacts of upstream activities refer to the use of materials, energy and emissions associated with goods/services sourced from upstream of the Organisational boundary in support of producing the Product Portfolio.

Les impacts indirects des activités en amont se rapportent à l'utilisation de matières et d'énergie et aux émissions qui sont associées aux biens et/services obtenus en amont des frontières organisationnelles aux fins de la production du portefeuille de produits.
Example sentence:

The indirect impacts of upstream activities refer to the use of materials, energy and emissions associated with goods/services sourced from upstream of the Organisational boundary in support of producing the Product Portfolio.

Les impacts indirects des activités en amont se rapportent à l'utilisation de matières et d'énergie et aux émissions qui sont associées aux biens et/services obtenus en amont des frontières organisationnelles aux fins de la production du portefeuil

Merci :)

disagree Daryo : even in EN it's not the best choice, but the literal translation in French won't work for that meaning of "organisational" // "organisationel" => comment les choses sont organisées
