Robert Carter Oct 3, 2019: @Toni I was thinking that "publisher" was the most likely scenario, but your reference nails it for me. Why don't you post it as an answer? @Eileen, have you looked at Toni's reference? "Publisher" seems much more likely than an "editor" in this context.

If your source text is from Spain, what I suspect, you should take a look at the "official" definition of "editor musical" by the SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores y Editores de España). http://www.sgae.es/es-Es/SitePages/corp-ayudaP2.aspx?i=243 There is also an English version, I believe.
