Opinion Your suggestion, "flanking splice sites ", seems logical, given the Spanish predilection for inventing words by sticking "-ing" on the end, so a splice/splicing site becomes "un splicing"...

neighbouring/flanking splicing sites

I get 78 hits in a search for "flanking splicing sites".
I think "neighbouring" sounds nicer than flanking, which has a rather military overtone, and the term appears in the published paper in the link, although the authors are Spanish.
Example sentence:

We have undertaken a search for such muta-tions in the coding exons and flanking splicing sites in 18 unrelated patients ,,,

agree liz askew : flanking splice sites

agree philgoddard : I think "adjacent splicing sites" or "flanking splice sites" would be better, as it avoids the awkwardness of two consecutive words ending in "-ing".
