Visual clutter

English to Spanish Medical Medical (general)
Hola,

"Presently, Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is the most common cause of permanent visual impairment in children (1-3). The diagnosis of CVI is indicated for children showing abnormal visual responses that cannot be attributed to the eyes themselves. Brain dysfunction must explain the abnormal visual responses, as abnormal ocular structures, abnormal eye movements, and refractive error do not. Fixation and following, even to intense stimulation, may be poor and the child does not respond normally to people's faces. Visual regard and reaching (in the child with motor capabilities) toward objects is absent"

Y sobre "periventricular leukomalacia" encontré que:

"PVL is a type of brain injury commonly found in babies who are very premature and have a very low birth weight. It is damage to the white matter around the fluid-filled ventricles of the brain. White matter transmits messages between different nerve cells and parts of the brain.

As a result, babies with PVL have a higher risk of cerebral palsy (a very general label that describes a mixture of cognitive and motor dysfunction with a broad spectrum of severity). Babies with PVL are thus at an increased risk of having developmental delays and learning disorders".

A modo de referencia, otras de las recomendaciones son "present pictures at mid-line, do not stand in front of a window when teaching".

Interpreto que se puede referir a reducir la cantidad de estímulos visuales que el niño debe procesar. No sé, igual me equivoco. Lo que me confunde un poco es que no se especifica si este "visual clutter" se refiere a lo que haya en el aula y que lo pueda distraer o a la presentación de los materiales didácticos.

Aunque estoy por decantarme por mi primera interpretación, por esto que encontré:

"To date, there has been little qualitative research exploring how students interpret visual sensory input in the classroom. Research has found that seeking student voice has the capacity to act as a change agent for Educational Quality of Life (EQOL), in several aspects of educational decision-making. In light of this knowledge, this study endeavored to fill this gap in the educational research literature. In this research, we take a qualitative, deductive approach to exploring students’ interpretations of ‘visual clutter’ in the classroom, to seek to improve EQOL

Methods
Through Arts-informed methodology, this study sought students’ interpretations of ‘visual clutter’ in the classroom. The study was conducted in three stages using photo elicitation, draw and talk, and semi-structured interviews.

Results
In seeking three students’ voices regarding their personal interpretations of ‘visual clutter’ in classrooms, light was shed on four themes: color palette, feature congestion, affordances, and spatial size, which were each shown to elicit negative emotional responses from the students. We analyzed the drawings of one child in depth as an exemplar for the qualitative methodology used".ç

¿Podría ser algo así como "reducir los estímulos visuales en el aula?

Gracias por cualquier sugerencia.

Visual clutter happens when our eye cannot rest, when it's constantly scanning, moving and taking in everything in our surroundings. For some people this visual clutter can cause an intense sense of inward chaos and disharmony because of the eye and mind never being able to rest.

sobreestimulación visual

This is a guess based on the existence of the term "estimulación visual" and the explanation of "deterioro visual cortical". Links below.

distracciones visuales

Another option along the same lines as Pili's suggestion.
