j. All concrete surfaces which are in direct contact with soil or blinding concrete shall be suitably tanked with continuous water proofing membrane, ‘BITUTHENE 8000HC’ or equal from an approved vendor. Waterproofing membranes shall be protected by means of screed on horizontal faces and bitumen impregnated protection board on vertical faces. Waterproofing membranes shall be terminated at 150mm above ground level using a proprietary flashing/protective painting system.
