Hello everyone, I can't find a correct translation for this term. Here is the complete sentence:
"The possession of a criminal instrument is an inchoate offense. This category of offense applies to conduct that the government considers criminal even though the person being charged may not have harmed anyone. On aurait quelque chose comme:
La possession d'un instrument destiné ou pouvant servir à perpétrer une infraction (un "instrument criminel") constitue [une infraction inchoative] [un crime anticipé]. Cette catégorie d'infraction s'applique à une conduite que le gouvernement considère comme criminelle même si la personne inculpée n'a blessé personne. Ce qui rend la conduite criminelle est le fait qu'un préjudice corporel serait survenu ou aurait pu survenir si la loi ne l'avait prévenu."
Pour le moment, tout ce que je peux voir c'est "instrument criminel" ou "instruments/dispositifs prohibés" mais pas sûre que le second soit préférable au premier...
