Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Chest CT scan
From a report on a patient with lung cancer and bone metastases. The opacity in question is a cavitary nodule - see this link ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6100641/) for more info.

"A livello toracico in sede postero-basale nel lobo inferiore del polmone di destra l'opacità associata a stria distelettasica di raccordo con la pleura posteriore presenta diametro trasverso di 38 mm per minimo incremento, anche attuale, delle sola centralità escavativa con spessore del ***cercine*** inalterato subcentimetrico."

I think they may be referring to the wall thickness, which appears to be an indicator of malignancy in these types of lesions (see here: https://www.jaocr.org/articles/tb-or-not-tb-differential-dia... but I'd appreciate some confirmation.

Nel follow up (riquadro C) il nodulo presenta la recidiva locale (freccia bianca) solo ed unicamente nel punto di maggior spessore del cercine presente all'angiosonografia 24 ore dopo la RFTA. estemamente al nodulo (outgrowth).

Panel C: During follow-up local recurrence was noted outside the boundaries of the nodule (outgrowth), precisely in the area corresponding to the thickened rim shown in Panel A.

agree Joseph Tein : Ciao Brent. I have "rim" (also "ring") in my glossary as a possible translation for "cercine."
