Italian term

per quanto valutabile

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Abdominal CT
"Vescica discretamente repleta, ***per quanto valutabile*** esente da grossolani espansi patologici endoluminali."

I'm sure there's a neat way of putting this. My understanding is that the CT scan of the abdomen (with and without contrast) needs a full bladder for best results, so with the bladder not being full, results were not optimal. "As far as assessment was possible" is my best effort so far, but there has to be a better way. Probably blindingly obvious, but it's eluding me so far.

Many thanks.

Agree with Joseph's idea :=)

Joseph's phrase also came to my mind when I read it.

Thank you both! Thanks for taking the time to respond, much appreciated.

Another option Ciao Fiona. I think your wording and Mark's would fit well. Another variation: "There was no evidence of a significant brainstem infarction clinically or radiographically *as far as could be assessed* in this clinical situation and the imaging methods applied. "
Mark Pleas Aug 12, 2020:
According to what I can find online, it seems that yes, the bladder should be full for a CT scan. So, the "per quanto" limitation would be the result of it being only partly "repleta".

It sounds like you are just looking for a slightly more elegant or natural way to express it in English than "as far as assessment was possible". To that end, my own preference would be to reword slightly the whole sentence, e.g., ...

"The bladder was reasonably full; as far as could be determined, there were no rough, pathological[abnormal?] endoluminal patches."

given the limitations...

I would reword.

A possible solution: Given the limitation of an incompletely distended bladder...

or something along these lines
Something went wrong...
