Spanish term

empaque

From a test report for a thermal printer - this is related to testing the accessibility of live parts on the unit. I don't think packing or packaging fits here (not mentioned in this sense in any other point in document).

Lisa Rosengard Oct 29, 2020:
"Excepting the mobile parts which are necessarily exposed in order to carry out a function of work, the following factors are considered, in which the expected usage of the packaging (gasket) can be good or bad. Note that there's a risk involved of causing personal harm."
Althea Draper Oct 29, 2020:
It looks like this section of your source text has been lifted directly from a Mexican safety standard (section 5.1.2.7).

The nearest I can think that could work is 'housing' or 'casing'.

It'd be interesting to know where the source text comes from.
"empaque" is the Latin American term we use for "junta".
As an alternative, empaque could also be used to mean O-ring or even lining.
If your text comes with pictures or drawings, you'll be able to figure out what it is they're talking about here.

Anyway, I hope you'll find this useful.
