English term

we want it the other way around

Non-PRO English Other Other
Could you translate "we want it the other way around" to simple English, please?

We should reverse it? or We should correct it? or ...

Boy: What's wrong?
Mom: The sweater is wrong. You're holding it inside out.
The outside is inside and the inside is outside.
Now, we want it the other way around.
Boy: There, is it right now?
Mom: Hmm, except that you're holding it upside down.
this is the top of the sweater and this is the bottom.
You're holding it the wrong way up.
Boy: Now, Is it the right way up?
Mom: Yes. But now, you're holding it back to front.
The back is in the front and the front is in the back.
We want it the other way round.
Boy: Is it the right way round now?
Mom: Hmm, Yes. Put it on, will you?

Thank you

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): Tony M, Barbara Carrara, Yvonne Gallagher

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

You keep asking for simple English, but these texts are in very simple English already! Maybe in future you should just ask us to explain them.

reverse the current situation

Inside-out: turn it the right way round
Upside-down: same
Back-to-front: same

The opposite of whatever it is at the moment.

The "we want" part simply means 'it needs to be...' / 'we need to have...'
