Korean term

있을진 모르겠지만

Korean to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
Hello, everyone. How would you translate this sentence:

다음이 있을진 모르겠지만.

It's a part of 다음에 연습 좀 해와요. 다음이 있을진 모르겠지만.

Does it mean something like: "Please do some practice for next time...If there's a next time, that is"?

Note from asker:
I actually found this translation on some website - do you mind explaining why does it work? Can you also translate 다음이 있을진 모르겠지만 to 'I don't know if there's a next time"? Would that make a difference?
Thanks for your reply! So does “다음에 연습 좀 해와요. 다음이 있을진 모르겠지만.” sound like ‘Please practice more, or I don’t think we’ll meet again’ ? Is it like a condition, where a speaker’s saying that they’re not sure if they want to see their S/O in case they don’t practice? I thought 다음이 있을진 모르겠지만 meant that the speaker was insecure about themselves, as in n ‘I don’t know if you want to meet again, but I hope you do, and we, indeed, meet’. Can it be interpreted in that way?
Jiwon Yang, my previous comment was addressed to you. Sorry, I forgot to include your name.
Peer comment(s):

agree Jiwon Yang : That would be the better choice since the phrase "다음이 있을진 모르겠지만 would mean that S/O won't get a second chance if they don't start working harder. So your "'I don't know if there's a next time" is a better fit.
