WBI

German to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Hi,

I'm translating a Swiss German text and keep running across the acronym WBI, but can't work out what it means in English. Here are some example sentences:

WBI Vorlegen. Durch Drücken der Taste „Stoffstrom Start“ am B01-05_AE1 werden 88 kg (± 10 kg) WBI in die Vorlage dosiert.

WBI 1 vorlegen 161.12.622 [….] mit Hilfe eines Wägerollis via Spritzring (V02) und Eintragsschacht (V04) 30 kg (± 3 kg) Wasser gereinigt (WBI) in den Reaktor dosieren.

This second sentence makes me think it's something to do with purified water, but I can't be sure.
Proposed translations (English)
2 +3 water bidistilled

Discussion

I'm not sure if it's water, because that wouldn't normally be measured in kilograms.

That said, if you Google WBI + Wasser, the first hit is the Wikipedia entry for "demineralisiertes Wasser", but WBI does not appear in the entry.

It might help to know exactly what they're making.

I worked in a lab in Germany for a while. The technicians called double-distilled water Aqua-Bi, short for bidestilliertes Wasser

It seems like you can also buy Wasser bidestilliert

I just can’t find a reference with WBI and Wasser bidestilliert together

Background

A Swiss chemical company uses steam as a heat transfer medium in the production process. This process gas is generated from demineralised feed water (WBI).

Der große Nachteil von demineralisiertes Wasser (auch WBI genannt) ist, dass auch die guten Mineralien aus unserem Körper herausschwemmt werden und einen Mangel verursacht wird, so dass unser Körper nicht mehr richtig funktionieren kann.
