English term
Source-to-Order
English
Bus/Financial
SAP
Supply Chain
Can anybody with SAP and Supply Chain knowledge tell me what exactly this term means in business? As far as I know there is no established translation for this particular term (or for most other terms such as this one) in my language pair.
The ones I've found say something along lines of "procure/supply based on order/in relation to order". I'm not sure if that's the correct translation in the SAP/Supply Chain context.
Does this term simply imply/mean the processes implemented/happen "from sourcing/supplying to ordering"?
Thanks

Note from asker:
Thank you for your reply. But, I kind of need a more "compact" definition rather than a "sentence"-like definition you suggested. The term is used in the following sentence: "implementation of Source-to-Order functionality in Coupa." So you can perhaps appreciate why I need a more "compact"/"short" definition in this particular case irrespective of the correct and academic definition. |
