Discussion

Lisa Rosengard Oct 14, 2021:
It's about understanding rationally how the money can be generated for capitalization after an unspecified time period. If it's about large amounts of profit or money making then it's not only about the interest collected on invested sums of money, which are relatively proportioned to the number of the amount of money invested initially.

neutral Francois Boye : you generate money over time by increasing over time the return of an investment. that's what capitalization is about.

Understanding the financial reasoning/logic from the point of view of money-making over time;

neutral Luis M. Sosa : Source is a little confusing. No need to elaborate, in this case you just to plug-in the concept.

disagree Adrian MM. : colloquial and confusable with money-making scams, besides which cash - as any accountant ought to know - is the prof. accounting term.

The operation of evaluating a present sum of money some time in the future is called a capitalization (how much will 100 today be worth in five years?)

generating of cash over the passage of time

Capitalis/zation is the header, so no point skipping the definition.

Cash - rather than money - in an accounting and investment context.

Example sentence:

the increase during the period in the discounted amount arising from the passage of time and the effect of any change in the discount rate.

If this number were to increase or decrease significantly in the upcoming year, it would indicate an underlying change in the company\'s ability to generate cash.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Andrew Bramhall : Why take eight words for what you can say in four, with no detraction from the meaning?
