Podejrzewam, że w tym tekście wyraz "cradle" oznacza dwa zestawy po dwa ramiona. Niech producent zaznaczy to "coś tam... coś tam" na rysunku albo przynajmniej wyjaśni w rozmowie telefonicznej.

However, the pads are at the ends of the arms and cannot "swivel against the the slides of the columns." The fixed parts of the arms can. The arms form a cradle, like one cradles a baby in one's arms.
