Dutch term

Het camperterrein is exclusief voorbehouden aan kampeerauto’s en zwerfwagens

Dutch to English Other Automotive / Cars & Trucks Text about a town\'s asse
Help please. I have tentatively translated this as "The camper site is intended solely for camping cars and motor caravans" but I don't really know the difference between the two nor what is the most common term for this type of vehicle.
They call them "mobile homes" in Belgium

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Michael Beijer Dec 14, 2021:
compare Google image searches I think ‘motorhomes’ are generally slightly bigger than ‘camper vans’. See e.g.:

https://www.google.com/search?q=motorhome&sxsrf=AOaemvKxMR6d... (motorhome)

https://www.google.com/search?q=campervan&sxsrf=AOaemvLkww21... (campervan)

I found this: Op de grote parking voorbj de ingang van Domein Bovy bevindt zich de zwerfwagen of mobilhomeparking. Deze is ook uitgerust met electriciteit en water.

And then The go-ahead has been given to create five new stopover sites for motorhomes and campervans in Moray. I think that should do with motorhome site for the terrain. What is the difference between a motorhome and campervan ?
jethro (asker) Dec 14, 2021:
I am not really bothered about kampeerautoterrein, as this can be a camper site, motorhome site,... it is the difference between kampeerauto’s en zwerfwagens

camper vans and motorhomes as suggested by Kirsten sounds about right.
Mair A-W (PhD) Dec 14, 2021:
actually, looking on google, it looks like it may come under a subheading kampeerautoterrein and be clarifying that this is the "camping" area vs the "parking" area. in which case "camping area" would suit IMO
Mair A-W (PhD) Dec 14, 2021:
... if it is reserved for motorhomes etc and not tents, then definitely not "camper" site!
Kirsten Bodart Dec 14, 2021:
The camperterrein May be part of a camp site, an are reserved for campervans and the like, as opposed to tents.

A mobilhome in Belgium is definitely a motorhome. Then there are also sta(an?)caravans, which is what you're referring to.
Mair A-W (PhD) Dec 14, 2021:
a mobile home is one of those semi-permanent things that you stick on a truck to move. we used to call them "static caravans" when I was a kid. So, probably not that.
Mair A-W (PhD) Dec 14, 2021:
"camper site"? ... campsite ?

camper vans and motorhomes

As you're only asking about the last two...

It's clear they mean two different things, as they're using two words, though those two actually mean the same thing.

I usually go by the term on Wikipedia as that is likely to be the most widely used.
IMO, here, they may mean self-converted vans.

agree Michael Beijer : I think ‘motorhomes’ are generally slightly bigger than ‘camper vans’, hence the author using 2 terms for what is essentially the same thing.
