طارد

Arabic to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Libyan text. Does this mean that the place was a repellent?

The sentence is:

Saeed Najmi Mar 2, 2022:
Di you mean a place to stay/ti live or just for that moment in order to think or meditate for a while?
Youssef Chabat Mar 2, 2022:
Not found I've looked a lot for this probability "مكان طارد"
but can't find even a single example.
many quests led me to the one I'm proposing, which means a wide place. especially that the writer says it finds it "the word" even if the surroundings are wider and empty.
when we live in a place like the writer's, we feel that it's of a normal dimension because we unintentionally compare it to what surrounds it, it's as if we take a tall guy, but when we compare him to a basketball player, for example, we have the impression that he is of average length.
Saliha18 (asker) Mar 2, 2022:
Yes! She is a writer trying to find a place to herself. Would 'discreet' be the translation here?
Saeed Najmi Mar 2, 2022:
Saliha
Does your context suggest the narrator is seeking a discreet spot?
