German term

Puma-/SC-Fall

German to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks
I found this term in PPT-documents related with Motorbezogene Fehler-Fälle bei BMWs Auto.
And i guess Puma refers to 'Produkt- und Maßnahmenmanagement Aftersales' (im not sure), but have zero clue what 'SC' stands for.

Why don´t you call a service center and tell us Alison? :)))
Alison MacG Apr 6, 2022:
Agree with Phil that you can leave it as it is.
It would still be good to solve the puzzle, though. Are there no other clues in your PPT documents?
Service Center doesn't seem quite right in the context.
See this English-language BMW document.
Defective parts replaced under the warranty are to be clearly labelled and carefully stored. An additional labelling with “accident” or “breakdown” has to be made for the following parts:
- Parts where the fault or failure led to an accident or where it is claimed that they led to an accident. In such cases, a PuMA SC Case has to be submitted immediately.

[Unfortunately, SC is not mentioned in the list of abbreviations]

Perhaps Special Case?, e.g.
In charge of PuMA Special Cases for the whole market.
Providing technical support for whole market including writing of technical support PuMA and PuMA SC cases.
National market Technical Support-Puma, PuMA SC, PuMA TTS-for cars and moto

Or something with safety?

I think Phil and Thefastshow are on the right track, but some references would help.

It doesn't matter PuMA is BMW's database of common faults - as you say, it stands for Produkt- und Maßnahmenmanagement Aftersales.

SC is almost certainly an English abbreviation, since it contains a C, so you can just leave it as it is. What it stands for is not your problem, and the customer will probably know.

Service Center

Given the context I would think Service Center makes sense here.

Your assumption regarding Puma seems correct.
