So, it relates to the details regarding the production of a book, we believe 'autorisguardato' relates to the endsheets and we think that it means they are effectively part of the book, but we can't find a term that fits. Thanks in advance for any help.

It means there is no separate endpaper - the text block is glued directly to the cover. See link below. I'd probably include an explanation too, as the term seems very rare even in the trade.
