In this example, the ear with the poorer signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and competing with more noise is the right ear, and therefore, having a less clear speech signal, will have less input weighting in the final distribution.
On the left side we have a better signal-to-noise ratio - the left ear is exposed to less noise, and therefore, the clearer speech signal will have more input in the final weighting distribution.
