To fairly determine which blockchains get to leverage the Kusama or Polkadot relay chains and their distributed computing power, the networks use Parachain Slot Auctions (or ‘Parachain Auctions’ for short).

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

A parachain slot is a scarce resource on Polkadot and only a limited number will be available. As parachains ramp up, there may only be a few slots that are unlocked every few months.

It might have come from the term "expansion slot", where you can plug in an expansion card to upgrade the functionality of a computer.
