Durchgangsarzt? So, I found a possibility in Durchgangsarzt, but the descriptions I've found so far (see refs below) leave me unclear as to how they would actually be involved. Most of the time, they are just being informed of developments during the treatment, but at one point, they are expecting the person to arrive at the hospital. Still not sure what to call a Durchgangsarzt in English, and I still could be barking up the wrong tree, because this seems to have something to do with accidents at work, which is not the case here:

Okay, hold the phone. I did a search for more examples of this term in the doc (which I should have done before posting, sorry), and it starts appearing as a title in front of the names of nurses. The first instance, is DA XXX using the same name used as "Fr. X" in my original post. But the A is probably not Arzt, because I don't think they would refer to a doctor as Frau anything. So maybe it's some sort of physician's assistant? The only thing is that when I look up Physician's Assistant, none of the options could conceivably be abbreviated as DA.

Another hint: a few lines later, this appears: "Info DA wegen Blutkultur", so 1) I'm thinking that the "ino" in the first sentence may be a typo, and it was supposed to be "Info" (or vice-versa), and 2) now it is also related in some way to the blood culture, so it may have some other applications other than just reducing fever.
