French term

Quadrants statistiques inclinables et décalables

French to English Tech/Engineering Mathematics & Statistics cell analyser software feature
I'm translating some technical specifications for a cell analyser. This phrase appears in a list of features of the software that controls it. I'm at a loss what to do with "inclinables/décalables". Tilting/shifting statistical quadrants?? The only other statistics-related feature mentioned is "Statistiques élaborées individuelles : moyenne, médiane, rCV, rSD, mode".

No answers given but client confirmed preference for 'floating', which covers both terms. Thanks, everybody!

hinged quadrants Thanks to Althea for suggesting 'cytometer' which is a key to searching the terms.

Though I'm sure the word 'hinge' relates to 'inclinable', I've found nothing like 'hingeable quadrants', so you might have to phrase it differently.

Hinged Quadrant Gates
Similar to the quadrant gate, the hinged quadrant gate divides plots into four sections, each containing positive/negative values depending on the location of the quadrant. However, unlike the quadrant gate, THE HINGED QUADRANT allows you the flexibility to move each quadrant borderline TO AN ANGLE of your choosing. The movement of each quadrant borderline is limited to its current plot axis.

@ Althea Judging by your second link, 'floating' seems to cover both inclinables and décalables. Would that be right?
MoiraB (asker) Sep 30, 2022:
Sorry Yes, we're talking about flow cytometry here.

Fwiw Agree with Althea
for example; regarding a cytometer (rCV, rSD p.167) and some information regarding quadrants (p.56):

I'm not sure what type of cell analyser you are referring to. If it is e.g. flow cytometry, then it may be referring to floating quadrants which allows the quadrants to be shifted into different shapes other than rectangles. For examples see
