This is an extract from an article describing a car designed by women and aimed at women (mainly): the Volvo YCC - Your Concept Car (http://www.autointell-news.com/european_companies/volvo_cars... It has many features some that may appear 'trivial' and others that could be judged as very useful. However, the author of this article (a man) seems to have a somewhat mixed view of the car. I am not sure how to translate the last few words without making it sound too negative. However, as far as I am aware, 'trivial' is not exactly positive in Spanish either.

One of the definitions my Larousse gives for 'trivial' is 'commonplace' - by extension you could say 'everyday' which has those connotations (i.e. it's not rocket science!) of the obvious, small details which I suppose they are saying are overlooked by male designers. I guess it's a contrast with the kind of car advertising you get from VW or Audi say, which emphasis technological innovations and precision engineering or, as Zanussi used to say (and maybe still does) The Appliance of Science!
