Spanish term

decubito central

Spanish to English Medical General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
From a police report from Peru relating to the death of a tourist for translation to British English.

Context:

I think this means 'face down' or 'in prone position' mainly going on the fact that they turned the body over to administer first aid, but I haven't come across this use before. Having said that the police report is full of errors... but it's quite important I get it correct.

TIA

@ Stuart and Aida. Yes, my source text says 'en cubito central' and I have posted the question as 'decubito central'. Whoops.
Stuart and Aida Nelson Mar 10, 2023:
@ Jane Your source text says 'en cúbito central' not 'decubito central'?
Jane Martin (asker) Mar 10, 2023:
Hi Muriel, I have a picture and that is the case.
Stuart and Aida Nelson Mar 10, 2023:
en cúbito central It seems to be a phrase used in Peru for 'prone position'

Central In prone position, yes, but maybe the feet were hanging over the curb and torso was on the sidewalk.

prone position

Could this be a typo for 'decúbito ventral'?

Note from asker:
Hi Edward - yes it could. It’s handwritten and barely decipherable so you’ve hit the nail on the head. Thank you!

- https://www.cochrane.org/es/CD008095/EMERG_decu
