This is a research carried out on cotton production and the term CAPSULATION seems strange to me. Here is the example sentence; "La production de coton a été en dessous de la moyenne en raison des pertes dues aux ravageurs, surtout dans la période critique de floraison-capsulation."

boll development
Capsulation in French refers to the boll development stage in the growth of cotton plants, not to be confused with the word ball, and when they open they're called open bolls. The growth stages of the cotton plant are: 1. germination and emergence, 2. seedling establishment, 3. leaf area and canopy development, 4. flowering and boll development and 5. maturation.

"Capsulation" or "encapsulation" does not get the hits while "capsule formation" does but I'm also blocked as I did not renew my membership (close to retirement)

"The plant also produces seeds that are contained in small capsules surrounded by fibre in the cotton bolls."
floraison-capsulation refers to the period from flowering to formation of the capsules.
