Italian term

in base alla settimana (il 1° o l’ultimo sabato del mese pecedente)

Italian to English Marketing Business/Commerce (general) Food & Drink
Aperto un sabato al mese - in base alla settimana (il 1° o l’ultimo sabato del mese precedente)

I'm confused by the exact meaning of this. Is it clear to anyone else?

Fiona Grace Peterson May 26, 2023:
I presume ... they want to open once every four weeks. With longer months, that 4th Saturday may fall on the 30th or 31st of the calendar month.
Fiona Grace Peterson May 26, 2023:
I wouldn't overthink it I think it means exactly what it says - the first Saturday of the month or the last Saturday of the month before. An odd way of putting it but I guess they have their reasons!
Bethany Kachura (asker) May 26, 2023:
But I also don't really understand the part in brackets. Is it saying that if in the previous month it was the 1st Saturday, it will be the last Saturday in the next month?
Fiona Grace Peterson May 26, 2023:
I would omit it It just means "depending on the week", but this is explained by the part in brackets. So I would just omit it.

omit

I still believe a translation would add nothing to the info given in brackets and would omit it.

on a week--to-week basis (the 1st Saturday of the month or the last one of the previous month)

- to kick off actual suggestions for a translation.

Aperto connotes a shop or office opening times, as opposed to a tenancy & lease start and end 'effective ' on a certain date and, in my experience, giving rise to nuch confusion, often blazing rows and negligence claims....

neutral Lara Barnett : 1st Saturday of the month is what bracketed part means, but week-to-week basis might be an over translation.

according to when the Saturday falls

One way of putting this in English is to use the expression/To fall on/

I would add it to the brackets (the first or last week of the month according to
when the Saturday falls/ the week the Saturday falls on)
