Thanks

benchmark as a pointer
Pointer - not an English dog breed in this instance, rather an indication of a suitable medication or 'drug'.
... sans critère d'orientation pour le PONATINIB ou L'AZACYTIDINE" : with no benchmark as a pointer to Ponatinib or Azacytidine (as 'inhibitors').
... sans critère d'orientation pour le PONATINIB ou L'AZACYTIDINE" : with no benchmark as a pointer to Ponatinib or Azacytidine (as 'inhibitors').
Example sentence:
We need to go a step further and determine the proper benchmark for the use of prescription drugs

being responsible for pleural effusion
i.e. no evidence to hold these drugs responsible for pleural effusion
. Of the case reports in the literature, pleuropericardial effusions with azacitidine are generally seen early in the treatment course. [14][15][16][17]27 This case report illustrates that pleuropericardial effusion can potentially happen at any time during the treatment of the MDS patient with azacitidine. This report adds to the current literature of possible azacitidineinduced effusions and increases awareness of this rarely reported adverse event in FAERS. .

Discussion
What is missing is information about the specific patient at the specific point in time, patient information that would help to decide which "guideline" is applicable i.e. which of this two drugs is more suitable for the patient.
Or, if both drugs were given in past, the "missing information" is needed to decide which drug is causing the side effect. Then
sans critère d'orientation pour le PONATINIB ou L'AZACYTIDINE
would mean
there is nothing to indicate which one of the two caused the épanchement.
i.e. none of the patient's exam results can be used as "distinguishing criteria" to decide which one caused the side effect.
Epanchement is effusion.
