8 Beneficios de la diversidad en las empresas.
Las empresas cada día compiten en mercados más globales y la movilidad de personas con diferentes culturas y razas es una realidad que debemos asumir en todas las compañías, por tanto gestionar la diversidad y hacerlo de manera positiva y constructiva puede convertirse en un poderoso aliado en la gestión de personas.
Al hablar de diversidad no sólo nos referimos a la multicultural o racial sino que además incluimos la diversidad en materia de género, discapacidad o edad. Cualquier tipo de diversidad en nuestras empresas puede aportarnos grandes beneficios si sabemos manejarla y gestionarla de forma correcta. Es fundamental, por tanto, que exista una capacitación en gestión de la diversidad para evitar posibles conflictos o dificultades, por ejemplo, con el idioma. La capacidad de gestión de nuestra empresa en referencia a la diversidad será lo que finalmente incline la balanza hacia los efectos positivos o negativos de la misma.
La diversidad, siempre que la gestionemos de forma correcta, aportará importantes beneficios a la empresa, entre ellos destacamos los siguientes:
1. Diferenciación y singularidad. En el momento actual en que vivimos es fundamental la diferenciación y especialización de nuestro negocio o empresa. Diferenciarnos del resto y potenciar nuestra singularidad nos beneficiará. Una forma de crear esta diferenciación va de la mano de la diversidad en la empresa.
2. Creatividad e innovación. Las diferentes formas de entender el mundo unidas a las múltiples experiencias de los empleados aportan valor a los procesos creativos o de innovación.
3. Mejora en la toma de decisiones. La existencia de múltiples puntos de vista mejora la toma de decisiones ya que nos permite, por ejemplo, generar más y mejores alternativas en la fase de generación de ideas. Existirán más posibilidades y más personas que valorarán las mejores decisiones para la empresa.
4. Experiencia y liderazgo. El directivo que trabaja con equipos en los que la diversidad está presente añade un punto de valor a su experiencia, poniendo en relieve su capacidad de liderazgo.
5. Flexibilidad y respeto. Al existir diferencias entre los distintos empleados se genera un respeto por parte de los mismos hacia el resto de compañeros. Gestionando la diversidad de la empresa y dando las mismas oportunidades a todos, más allá de sus diferencias, conseguiremos crear un equipo consistente y unido.
La flexibilidad conseguirá ir más allá de las fronteras de la empresa, ya que la diversidad nos va a permitir acceder a nuevos mercados a los que de otra forma no conseguiríamos llegar, fidelizando nuevos clientes.
6. Fidelización. Gracias a la multiplicidad de nuestros trabajadores conseguiremos empatizar con más clientes. Diversos clientes se sentirán mejor atendidos y entendidos, y conseguiremos fidelizarlos.
7. Mejora de la imagen de marca y reputación corporativa. Nuestra imagen puede verse beneficiada y reforzada por el manejo de dicha diversidad.
8. Productividad y talento. Conseguiremos que en nuestra empresa trabajen los mejores empleados, sin tener en cuenta su nacionalidad, edad o sexo. Este ambiente de respeto, igualdad y creatividad favorece que se establezca un buen clima laboral que beneficia a su vez la productividad de los integrantes del equipo.
