Danish to English Medical Medical (general) Patient records - hospital

Hi - I've come across an odd term and was hoping someone could shed some light. This is in a cancer patient medical record entry - instructions for care. Is this that he can be given water to drink or his mouth/lips can be kept moist (ice chips, etc.)
