outline stitch

Non-PRO English to French Other Linguistics sewing
This stitch is used to start most patterns. Bring the needle up to the left-hand side of the first pleat, sew over to the second pleat, keeping the thread above the needle, and back out through the middle of the first and second pleat. The needle should point down and come out just under the stitch before.
