Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Jan 7, 2005:
Oh! Sorry!
At the beginning of the sentence there should be Kulturelle Bildung!
Withut "kulturelle" it definitely makes little sense.
I'm sorry:-(((
Anglo-German (X) Jan 7, 2005:
Ich verstehe den Satz auch berhaupt nicht. Die Bildung wird in der b. Bildung nicht angeboten? What's that supposed to mean? Aus welchem Land kommt der Text? Aus sterreich oder der Schweiz? Fehlt da vielleicht irgendwo ein Wort?
Francis Lee (X) Jan 7, 2005:
The clue to this, I think, is in your other question (Kulturhaus)
Francis Lee (X) Jan 7, 2005:
More context/text would help, as this sentence makes little sense as it stands.

Peer comment(s):

neutral Anglo-German (X) : The first link refers to "Beigeordnete" as a person responsible for education, in the other Google hits "subordinated" is used as the Past Tense, something a person did, not as a participle qualifying the term education.

I'm more inclined towards "co-ordinated education" after research and would highly appreciate your opinion about the term, thank you & danke for your opinion anyway, xlit!
neutral Francis Lee (X) : Beware: your first two "references" are non-native, and the third was written by a Russian (as is in any case apparent from "in the natural and engineering science")

Extra-curriculum you mean, Francis Lee? I wonder if it's the case here.

An Attempt

The official school curriculum offers no continuous education in cultural affairs, although this is an accepted social value / socially desirable.

I can only imagine it refers to facilities not directly governed by the educational authorities, e.g. cultural centres.

Sorry for the very late answer, but I'd use something like this as a provisional solution and try to find out what they actually mean. If it's a "Begriff" at all it's a very little-known one and should therefore be defined or clarified
