English term

looking farther out

English to French Bus/Financial Human Resources
The main purpose of this conference is to share the expectations for our sales performance under our Commercial Plan for 2005 and develop a better understanding of the tools that can help us meet those expectations. **Looking farther out**, we will also be developing a better understanding of - and commitment to - the mindset that will determine our ability to be the best.

À plus long terme? Dans un optique plus global?

D'un point de vue plus général

"Zoom out" en quelque sorte

puisqu'il s'agit dans la suite de la phrase d'un énoncé un peu vague, général, mais pas pour autant relégué au long terme (=on peut commencer tout de suite, et c'est d'ailleurs ce que l'on va faire dans cette conférence).
À mon avis

neutral RHELLER : this expression is dedicated to futuristic thinking; I could be wrong as well but the first sentence specifies 2005.

Yes but they are talking about what they will do in the course of the present conference. But you might still be right. Please give your answer : I would hate to get 4 points for a wrong translation :-( (Who said that would not be the first time?)
