This is purely a suggestion since I do not know of any, nor could I find any, "official" translation for this term. The Dutch appears to imply that the policy did not cover the claim in question. Hence my suggestion.

but maybe you're looking for : (the case) 'was settled amicably or by mutual agreement' without referring to any written agreement, in order to avoid having to go to court
