Huizinga (uitspraak)

Dutch to English Other Linguistics
Is Huizinga pronounced hui-zing-a or hui-zin-ga?
I think the former is right although I'm not entirely certain about this.

So, you mean that it sounds like hui-zing-ga?

hui-zin-ga

I would say the latter is correct, but I'm not Frisian. So the boys and girls from the North will have their say.

You must stress all three syllables equally. I'm afraid Willemina may have confused you with the extra g. She is right, hough, don't put a pause between the n and g. Pronounce the "g" hard.
Peer comment(s):

agree Willemina Hagenauw : I'm from the north and this is right. But make sure that you do not put a pause between the n and g because it souds more like hui-zing-ga.
