disagree Daryo : I don't think that the "input" part is there just for decoration + preuve par l'absurde: Customers are not part of the design team, except maybe when the design is commissioned by one and only client - nothing to suggest it's the case here.

équipe responsable du cahier des charges

Une suggestion
Peer comment(s):

neutral Daryo : there is a strong similarity, but "cahier des charges" is used when you have one client commissioning a project, doesn't seem to be used when you have a design team trying to create a product for mass consumption.

"design input team" would be a separate team that will define the "input" that will be used by the main/core design team.

"design input team" = the team that will define the "design input"

nothing more;

the next stage is done by the core design team that will produce the "design outputs".

What is design input?
Design inputs are the physical and performance characteristics of a device that are used as a basis for device design. • Establish and maintain procedures for Design Input: – Ensure requirements are appropriate by addressing user needs and intended use(s) in terms that are measurable.

The Art of writing Design Inputs
-Capturing all functional, performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
-Build upon user needs and intended use.
-Make sure design inputs are clear and objective.
-State design inputs in a way that allow you to prove / disprove them.

in plain-speak: ask future/potential customers what kind of product they want, let them partipate in defining the "design brief" (how the product should look like / what it should be capable of doing) BUT certainly not "join the (core) design team"!
